A Black Fairytale
“A Black Fairytale” imagines queer black existence in fairytale worlds. In refusal of a linear story, the three directors glitch themselves in and intertwine the fairytale story with their own journey, marking their position and disclosure of desire.

Isabelle Edi, Kim Sanou and Mariama Sow work as freelance artists with a focus on artistic research and collective practices. They are studying for a Master’s degree in Critical Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and are critically engaged with the representation and reception of Black bodies and Afro-diasporic perspectives in Germany/Austria. Central to their work is the collective process with a focus on imagination, community and care.
