Every day, thousands of people choose to remove their content from social media. YouTube, in particular, is home to a large number of ephemeral amateur videos in which people express themselves about their daily lives. Given the loss of control over our personal data online, these network-quitters may have found a solution.

Félix Côte | FR

Born in 1993 in France, Félix Côte aims to subvert digital technologies and new media by proposing critical uses for them. With a hybrid background in both art and science, he creates installations and films that confront the public with their own online and internet practices. He explores the endangered zones of digital capitalism to uncover what machines do poorly, inadequately, or not at all. His work questions the possibility of archiving in an age dominated by fragile tools and media. By repurposing them, he seeks to create forms that resist current patterns of obsolescence.
