The Corresponding Other

*The Corresponding Other* explores transformation as an ongoing condition unfolding between self and Other—between perceiver and perceived, the organic and the artificial, the visible and the conceptual.

Drawing from the philosophical notion of the **Noumenon**, the project uses video art as its primary medium to investigate how perception, memory, and identity mutate within hybrid ecologies shaped by human experience and technological systems. The act of image‑making becomes a dialogue between body and device, presence and absence, in which both the artist and the recorded body continuously negotiate their ontological boundaries.

Metamorphosis here is not understood as linear evolution, but as a persistent state of reconfiguration—a recursive process of self‑imitation, disassembly, and recomposition. Flawed DNA and fragmented codes of life are reinterpreted as metaphors for cognitive and cultural vulnerability under conditions of environmental instability and digital acceleration. Through slow, attentive visual observation, the work traces how consciousness reforms itself amid loss, distortion, and regeneration.

The project invites viewers to approach perception as a living organism—constantly morphing, reflecting, and redefining its relation to the world. Each viewing becomes an encounter: between the gaze and the gazed, between the image and its maker, between the self and its mirrored Other. In that fleeting moment of recognition, metamorphosis unfolds not as a singular event, but as a fundamental condition of existence.
